
The Rotary Club of Cochin South, in association with Government HSS Thiruvankulam, organized a Blood Donation Camp aimed at promoting the spirit of service and community welfare. The camp was inaugurated by Smt. Padmaja S. Menon, Councillor, Cochin Corporation, and was presided over by Rtn. George Panamkuzha, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Cochin South. The event began with an inaugural address emphasizing the importance of voluntary blood donation and the collective responsibility of society in saving lives.
The main address was delivered by Dr. Muhammed Haneef, Medical Officer, Indian Medical Association, who highlighted the critical role of regular blood donation in meeting medical emergencies and supporting hospitals and patients in need. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the parents of students, reflecting strong community involvement. By the end of the day, the initiative successfully recorded 34 blood donors, marking a significant achievement for the club’s ongoing health service initiatives.
The event stood as a testament to Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian service and the power of collective action in building a healthier society.
